Adhikari, its a caste which may be Brahmans or Kshetriyas. Most of them follow the Hinduism. They inhabit in the Himalayan and the Terai Regions of Nepal. In the present context, most of them are residing at the terai belt. People say that their origin is from India but the actuality remains unknown. Some adhikaris get recruited in the Central politics since the period of Janga Bahadur Rana, the Rana regime.
About Adhikari in Nepal, Man mohan Adhikari, Bharat mohan Adhikari are some of the politicians who got involved in the communism. In the context of Nepal they are believed to be intellectual among the other castes.
